The Moveable Feast Tour: Packing
Pack Light!
Luggage space will be limited to what can fit inside Patricia’s and Mellen’s small vehicles. Please take this into consideration when packing. If your combined luggage exceeds the available space, we cannot guarantee to transport everyone’s belongings. For the sake of the comfort of everyone on the tour, please respect our request to “pack light.”
While we understand that you may have plans during your stay in France that would require fancy outfits, for the Moveable Feast Tour you will be in the countryside, where dress is practical and casual. Even when we go out to local restaurants, there will be no need for dressy clothing. Please keep in mind as well that we will be touring in places where there may be cobblestones, mud, and rough terrain.
You will be able to do a load of laundry halfway through the trip at Patricia’s house. There are hairdryers available at both homes, so there is no need to bring one with you. Our suggested packing guidelines are as follows:

Practical Matters
Participants in the Moveable Feast Tours should be in reasonably fit condition. Although we will not be hiking, per se, or engaging in strenuous physical activity, reaching a number of the sites we will be visiting requires the ability to walk up steep inclines, cover rocky terrain, and maneuver through narrow, sometimes damp passages (this last in the caves in the Dordogne). We will also be engaging in some outdoor activities even if there is inclement weather, such as rainstorms or the mistral, though we will always do our best to reorganize events to avoid that. Tour members with injuries or limited physical abilities will not be able to participate in some activities. Please contact us ahead of time if you have any specific concerns.
